My husband lived at Community Homes Australia for the last 18 months of his life, it was his home and myself and the family were always welcome to join him there, as often as we liked and for however long we wanted. My mum, Karen Somerville, was the very first resident to move into Kambera House, and it has been the best decision for her. The team don’t just provide care — they truly notice her, understand her, and always share their observations with our family. Karen is encouraged to be herself, whether that’s giving massages, singing songs, or joining in with others. She is celebrated as part of a family, and we are so grateful for the thoughtful and personal way she is supported every day.
